Some of our close friends visited us in D.C. this past weekend. Together, we went to the Smithsonian National Zoo, the National Cathedral, and the Tidal Basin. The weather was phenomenal, with the sun shining and the temperature warm enough so that the flowers had just begun to bloom. While we only saw the outside of the National Cathedral and part of the Smithsonian Zoo, we took our time walking around the Tidal Basin and soaking in the monuments and their etched historical quotes.
